This year, we attended the Trick-Or-Treat Trail event put on by the City of Pearland at Independence Park. Carissa did really well holding out her Elmo and getting lots of treats!

We wondered if it would ever happen... ever.
And it finally did.
Jake Jones proposed to Dee Wright last weekend under the century tree at Texas A&M University. We were happy to be able to celebrate with the ecstatic couple at the Dixie Chicken. I have to admit that it brought back some cool memories from almost five years ago when Jonda and I were celebrating our engagement in a similar way. Although, I do have to admit, I'm glad that I didn't receive an A&M pacifier as a congratulatory engagement gift. (Though from what I understand, the A&M pacifier ended up in an A&M trash can)
We couldn't be more happy for the future Mr. and Mrs. Jake Jones... and soon, I will begin referring to Dee as DJ. She says she's been called that before in comparison to DJ Tanner from the tv show Full House. Glad she was referred to as DJ... and not Kimmy Gibler.
The rock that Jake bought was Huge (reads with a capital 'H') and very pretty. I think Dee liked it a 'little'.
And so begins the fun tasks of planning a wedding... a honeymoon... bachelor and bachelorette parties... all the fun stuff. And the weird thing is... I don't know who is more excited, Dee or Jonda?
UPDATE: Jonda sent me this link at work... she says this is Dee & Jake's first dance.
Here are a few pics from the engagement:

Let the good times roll!... and that they did in New Orleans, Louisianna. Thanks to Jonda, we enjoyed a great weekend away to celebrate my birthday and our four year anniversary.
We stayed at the Renaissance Pere Marquette Hotel, ate lots of Cajun food, played in Harrah's Casino, and had a "few" drinks on Bourbon street. It was an absolute blast! Much thanks to Jonda for a great surprise and an enjoyable weekend away.
Here are a few things that we did:
WWII D-Day Museum
Yo Mama's Bar & Grill Improv Group - Game of Laughs
Harrah's Casino
Hurricanes at Pat O'Briens
Razzoos Dance Club
Bourbon Street Wiki
French Quarter Wiki
And some things we ate (the food was awesome!)
Cafe Dumonde
Brennan's Cafe Palace
Remoulade's Oyster Bar
And a few other things we did that weren't online:
Krystal Hamburger
The Famous Door
Sammy’s
Cajun Cabin (GREAT BANDS...)
Watching LSU lose to Kentucky... and luckily not watching the Ags lose to TTech.

Well, October is officially here. I love the fall. Mainly because it's football season, it's dove and deer season... and it's baseball post season. Though this year, my Astros suck, my Texans are struggling with injuries, all of my Fantasy teams are horrible, and my Aggies are on their way to being the epitamy of mediocrity (Thanks coach Fran). That said, I really enjoyed the fact that the Longhorns lost to K-State for the second year in a row. 41-21. NICE. Gig'em Wildcats!
I would like to thank everyone who came out to my nerd night... a.k.a. my Halo 3 party. Although we didn't have a full 16 players... we did have 4 large tv's... and a lot of loud explosions to enjoy. It was a great way to celebrate turning 30. When you're playing video games, it is absolutely impossible to feel old. Ok, except when you're playing online and some 12 year old keeps kicking your ass over and over and over again. Then you kinda feel old, but not "30" old... more like "22" year old.
At any rate, much thanks to everyone for their generous "birthday" gifts and wishes this year... I had a wonderful birthday. I'm especially looking forward to my New Orleans trip that Jonda got me... It's been a while since I've had a "hurricane" on Bourbon Street. Time to let the good times roll!
Pop quiz... which one of these is really "Master Chief?"

Well, it has been a while since I've posted a video... and I apologize for the size of this thing (9 megs - it'll take a while to load). And it's only about about 40 seconds long. But this is Carissa and I feeding the dolphins at Sea World San Antonio with Raymond, Cassandra, and Jonda. Carissa had a great day watching the sea lions, whales, and various "critters."
